Helppp! Type R swap into 93 EG. No spark or anything.
Ok so I finish my Type R swap today, went to crank it and first the ECU light doesn't come on at all. I didn't use my OBD1 engine harness I used the obd2 ones that came with the Type r and they plugged right into the shock tower plugs. But when I tried to start it nothing happened. It tries to crank so the start motor and everything is working just the dizzy doesn't make any spark. The P28 ecu that I used was chipped for a OBD1 JDM B16a. This is a JDM Type r as well year 1996. If its the ECU should I just get another chip for it with the type r basemap.
Well how would I check that? I mean there is the wire running thermostat housing. But there is a screw with 2 black and 2 brown wires that are hanging off it that have been cut. But i can't find somewhere to where it would go.
Also after trying to crank it and everything, i let it sit and then the ecu flowing glowed till it was fun and then my radiator fan just cut on. I don't know what I could do about those wires being cut.
Also, I went out there and checked the power to the dizzy, starter, and injectors. All are getting constant current. I changed one of the shock tower plugs to a different one because i think I had one backwards which is why the ECU light wouldn't come on. So i was wondering could it just be i need the other ECU chip with the Type r basemap? Or what should I look for next
those are ground wires for the harness. hookem up and start the car!
Yeah they where cut in the original harness.. So I had to take the hard original b16a harness, and cut the dizzy, alt, and injector clips. Changed that and plugged it in, started right up after a few backfires from old gas. So It's running now. Thanks for the help guys.
