How do you know that your not getting spark in 2 cylinders at higher rpm? Did you physically check them?

Is your check engine light coming on? Or is the engine breaking up bad at higher RPM?

How did you check for spark at the plugs? you say it has spark at idle but then it doesn't after it's warmed up. Have you tested the ignition control module in the distributor? It could be an ICM issue.

However, an engine that won't rev fast doesn't always point at ignition issues. Pulling the spark plug wires on a running engine and not having any change doesn't always point to spark ether. If that cylinder is not getting fuel or the compression is bad. There will be no change when you pull the plug wire.

Plus a little bit more background info on your swap would be beneficial to helping you out.
• Did you do a compression test on the engine before you swapped it in?
• Is the timing correct
• What injectors are you using and are they in good condition?
• What ECU are you using?

yeah i can diagnose my problem by pulling spark plug wire when cars running considering i cant see spark coming from the wire! i hold it next to my exhaust manifold and see no arc from any wire 1 thru 4 but 3 and 4 are firing cause it loses idle when i pull 3 or 4 but nothing changes when i pull 1 and 2

No change when you pull 1 or 2 could be bad cylinder compression or a fuel issue.

Before you start the engine pull the no. 1 spark plug wire and stick a spare spark plug in the wire. Then ground/set the spark plug ground strap onto your exhaust manifold. Turn the engine over and check for spark. Do this for each cylinder. If there is no spark then, ignition is the issue. You should see a bright blue/white spark if it is a good working system

If there is spark but it is weak (orange/red) check your ignition coil and plug wire resistance. If there is no spark, check your cylinder compression and your fuel injectors.

I had the same problem when I had the F23a1 in my 90 Accord. Its your firing order! Its still 1-3-4-2, but #1 is in a different position than it is on the F22a and F22b2. See diagram below (for F23a1 and F22b1). Let me know if this helps.

ok well did your idea with the spare spark plug and i have spark all the way across and i have to have good compression on 1 and 2 because they run great on cold start but where could my fuel issue be if it runs fine on cold start?

Fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump or clogged fuel filter or injector filter.

Do you have access to a pressure gauge that will fit on the fuel rail? if you do you can hook it up and watch the fuel pressure.
