Default Cooking the dynasty 200

I was wondering how many of you guys have fried your boards inside you dynasty 200 due to the fan crapping out? Both my boss & i have toasted ours twice. I still love miller dynastys & will not use anything else, but i would have thought that they would put a shut down on it if the fan failed? I use a dynasty 350 everyday & have never had an issue with that doing production work day in and day out. Just wondering whats up with these 200s?

Friend of mine cooked his dynasty 200dx a few times. Last time out of warranty, the front lcd display wouldn't even turn on. Not sure why the 200s suck so bad. The 300s and 350s have been nearly bullet proof.

if this happens out of warranty, what does it cost to get them up and running again? Will Miller supply the board, fan, and whatever else so you can DIY it, or do you have to pay big labor costs too?

We have 8 350dx's at work. I would say about one of them burns up every 1-2 months. We probably run the ragged edge of duty cycle.

I too am still VERY curious about this.

Also, do the Dynasty 200s have that super loud fan that the diversion 180 has?

Miller lists replacement parts in the manual.... don't know how easy they are, but if the main board takes a dump, its probably cheaper to just buy a new welder.

You guys must do some heavy duty shiit lol... My dynasty 200 only stopped working once and it was because something came unplugged internally.

After using every welder on the planet I'd have to say that thermal arc is hands down the best inverter

Just blew up another 350dx. This one was not repairable but the brand new one is really shiny and nice! The thermal arc 300tsw also took a dump.

dam these welders don't have a thermal swicth in them or a fan control that turns them off when the fan go down thats why i like old electrical equipment and not these computerized junk they are more robust and a cave man can fix it

it would cost more to rebuild than it would to buy a used working one...

Exactly. The price of the weldin machine is recovered in the same day anyways so having downtime is more costly waiting for a repair.

Also its not like these thing just break for no reason. They have a duty cycle and if you respect that they are fine. If you abuse the machine 23hrs a day 7 days a week you will have problems.

Maybe time to buy a couple 700s if you guys are going ***** to the wall all the time? If you start blowing those up, you know you've got other issues going on.
