Default Which axle do i need

Okay I searched and cant find anything really. I have a 96 civic ex coupe w/b18c1 and s80 trans. I just snapped a driver side axle last night. Do I need an axle for a gsr or do I need one for the 96 civic ex d16(stock motor)? Thanks

you need a b-series axle if you have a b series motor/trans in the car.

Can anyone else confirm this. I have had one other tell me the inner splines are all the same but the outer(the ones going into the hub) are specific to the car, and that i needed 96 civic axles. Its funny I have had this car for 8+years im on my third motor, and I dont know what axles I need as these were the ones in it when I bought the car with the swap already done.

If your car has ABS, get GSR axles. if not, get RS axles. The non-ABS are like $10 cheaper. That's $10 to spend on food, or beer, or tools, or beer.

Its not a big deal, really. B series, GSR, but basically, those would fit both ends.

GSR (really just ABS equipped cars) axles are the same length, have the same dimension ends etc as RS (non ABS equipped) axles. The difference is there is a toothed "gear" like ring around the outter part of the axle that fits in the hub. This ring is purely for ABS function because there is a sensor that reads these teeth spinning and...I don't know, but I just know the toothed ring is only for ABS. It will fit on non-ABS cars, but it's not required.

I bring this up because the GSR axles are more expensive purely because they have that ring. If you don't need it, don't waste the money, get the cheaper RS axles and have a cold drink to relax.
