Default Uneven rotor wear

Hey all,

I noticed that my rear rotor was wearing a bit differently on my '03 CR-V. It seems that the inner half is wearing normally while the outer edge has accumulated a bit of rust. I know rust is normal on rotors, but the rotors on the other three wheels are wearing normally and evenly. There aren't any noticeable issues with the brake pads. I noticed about a year ago that the caliper was sticking on this same wheel and had the caliper rebuilt. Fixed the sticking problem, but this makes me feel that there might be another problem. I'm not sure if i should be concerned about this rotor or if i should just be happy that I don't notice any problems with braking. There's a picture below.

Thanks in advance for any input you might have!

Look carefully at the pad off the car. You can use a micrometer and check thickness inner and outer circumference. It may have a taper and only be making partial contact. Since the rear does less braking, it may not be very noticable. It may affect when ABS comes on in a hard stop and cause earlly lockup and less total braking. You also could have an rotor with taper also from the prior sticking issue. Use a micrometer on the rotor. Since the rotor and pads eventually match wear, you may end up replacing rotor and pads, but measure first and try to find the problem.

Caliper slide pins are most likely seized or sticky. Clean and lube them with synthetic brake grease (do not use white grease or neverseize!) If the slide pins have a rubber bushing near the end on the pin itself it may be swelled causing the pin to stick as well, replace the bushing(s) if they are at all swollen.
