i just picked up a 96 ek hatch with stock motor BUT aftermarket header and straight pipe , and need to get it smogged i've been looking for the y7 header but found a y8 header only , my question is would i pass smog with the y8 header? or how can i pass it .. thnks

so get a cat and the Y8 header and will work ?

 

You can install a Y8 header, exhaust pipe A, and cat, but I think you may need to extend the O2 sensor wires.

Hmmm...also not sure that Y7 exhaust pipe B is compatible with the Y8 cat. Maybe somebody else can chime in.

You still need to find a good smog guy that knows what he is doing.
