b18c1 is that a GSR? Stock for stock, I'd go with the B18c 1 or 5...

type-r engine code is B18C5, a B18a is the LS motor from the 2nd gen integra, B18B is the Ls motor out of 94 and up integras, B18C1 is GSR(it has vtec),B16A(vtec),B18C5 is Type-R(of course vtec)

Do you want all motor or turbo? Turbo go with the b1, all motor madness go for the C1. It's that simple!

Theres a big price difference between the c1 and c5, obviously go with c5 if you have the $$$

what if I didnt want to go turbo... but didnt want to do any internal engine mods? What would you suggest to drop in a civic? I'm sure I want vtec tho.

If I can pic up a b18 for dirt cheep, would the swap still cost relatively the same as swaping a b16?

If you get the B, you can always get VTEC later down the road by doing the LS/VTEC swap... it all depends on how much money you have to spend bro.

Which "b" are you referring to? the b18 or b16 ? haha I know this is difficult cause I'm a n00b but thanks for putting up with me

and I want to spend as little as possible... I keep hearing b16 b16 b16~!!! but I was down at the junkyard and saw over 10 integras with mint condition engines...so I'm trying to get as much info as possible

just to refresh ur mind...

B18B1 = no VTEC
B18C1 = VTEC
B18C5 = Type R VTEC

I guess if u want VTEC go for the B18C1... cuz the C5 is expensive.
But if u dont have enough money for a C1, then go for the B1... chill... save up and buy a VTEC head. Simple as that.

also check out the B16 engines... they may be cheaper than the B18C1 if u cant afford it but REALLY want a DOHC VTEC engine.
