Gettin ready to go to my tuner tomorrow and figured I'd install the 1000cc injectors (old was 550cc) since we are tuning for alot more power and I will be taking it on a trailer. Now, the car started up just fine but it idles high and low constantly, I take it this is normal since its tuned on the 550cc's?

Called my tuner but he's very busy right now so I thought I would ask here real quick

 

i assume you didn't scale your map for 1000s? if so, why did you even think about starting the car?

 

yes, that is normal. I'm surprised it started with the large difference in size.

 

Completely normal with large injectors. After the dyno, it should run like new again.

 

LOL - no the fuel map is still on the 550cc but I started it so I can get it up on the trailer in my driveway and obviously without any boost and my tuner is like super busy so I thought I would put the injectors on and save him some time....

Ya I finally heard from my tuner and he said its normal cos its mapped for 550cc and I should only get it on the trailer Ya it idled pretty bad and died twice too but I was not even running for more than a few mins.

Yep Tomorrow is the big day!

 

why don't you drive it there on 550s and swap out in the shop?

Might as well do another oil change once you get to your tuner... Starting and running that car with nearly double the original tuned injector size simply means your oil is probably contaminated with fuel dilution, hardcore...

 

Damn I never thought of that - ok I will do it before even starting it again...
