0bd0 dizzy for obd 1?
I am swapping a z6 in my car soon, and am going to convert to OBD1.. is it possible to stick with the OBD0 dizzy with the new ECU? im not thinking so, but if it would buy me a couple of weeks, that would be cool, as I need a car very soon, and the only thing holding me back right now is really just the dizzy and ECU.. i have everything else.. just curious..
and yes I did search around a bit.. lol.. just didnt find anything that really said yes or no..
thanks

No.
Regardless of being able to to plug it in or not, there is a sensor inside that uses a reluctor wheel that is pressed onto the distributor shaft.
The wheel has teeth on it and as the distributor spins the teeth cross over the other half of the sensor which then sends a pulse/signal to the ECU.
OBD0 and OBD1 have different number of teeth on the wheel and you get the wrong signal to ECU.

ah.. ok.. that solves that.. lol.. thanks.. that is kind of what I figured, but it never hurts to ask..
now i just have to source one of these things, along with an ECU.. that is going to be fun..
