Default z6+pm7 pistons + no tune = temp DD?

ok.. so, I have a set of pm7 pistons, used, that I am thinking about dropping into my z6, thats going in my ef.. the problem is, after the ECU and all that, I will not have the money to have the ECU tuned for this high comp ratio..

my question is, would I be able to reliably run the car just as a commuter (I dont speed or drive dumb unless I am racing, which i wouldnt until tuned)? Like, if I just ***** foot it around for a month or so until I can find a worthy shop to chip/tune it?

Any reason you can not just wait on swapping the motor in until you can afford the tune and have it right?

You could probably get away with it for a while if you must.
You want to make sure it doesn't detonate so maybe retard the timing and whatever else you can think of to make sure it doesn't run lean.

yeah.. that is what I was thinking.. increase the FP with a regulator, and retard the timing a bit.. I just need a DD fairly soon for work, but I dont want to have to take the whole motor apart again to put the pistons in 3 months from now, when I could have done it this time..

Idunno.. its just a hard decision.. lol.. i would almost want to keep it low compression, so i could boost it down the road, but driving a boosted honda where I live is just asking to get jacked at gunpoint.. haha.. so since I am not going to, i would like to be able to squeeze a lil more power potential into the car while I can..

maybe there is another ECU I could use for the time being until it is time for tuning? something that is chippable, but not too aggressive? I am totally NOT going to be running the car hard at all until that problem is fixed..

any ideas?
