Default fuel gauge 97 Honda del Sol Si

I was hoping to get some help please? I am tired of getting the run around and every mechanic in Austin wanting to look at my car and charge me for this or that. I am female and we all know that we get taken advantage of.
I have a 97 Honda del Sol Si. The car was sitting in my garage for 2 years. This past weekend, a guy friend of mine helped me get the car started again. I have a new battery, spark plugs, an oil change and tires. I also put 10 gallons of new gas in.
Only the fuel gauge is not working. We have checked the fuses and all are fine.
Is there some wiring related to this in the underdash fusebox?

The diagrams below are for 96-00 Civics as I don't have your Del Sol manual. It should be identical or similar though.

Since the fuel gauge is not working, would the low fuel light indicator still work?

Depends on what the problem is. Avoid running the tank out of gas to test as there is some risk of frying the fuel pump.

I am curious to see if the low fuel light indicator comes on. I have been told that it may or may not. I am keeping track of my mileage. I know that I filled the tank completely the day we revived it. I took it in today for state inspection and was told I need a new gas cap because the seal is bad. Right now, I am trying to remember what is the gas reserve amount for when the low fuel light comes on? Anyone?

For my two Civics, the low fuel light first comes on when there is about 1 1/2 to 2 gallons in the tank.

Ok, I am still working on using the gas and seeing if the low fuel light will come on. I do not plan on running out of gas and getting stranded!
My new problem is the car won't start. It will start if you wiggle the battery terminal clamps or move them a certain way. The positive one is very corroded.
How do I know if it is not the starter or altenator?
Depending on how much I move around the clamps, either I get just a click noise with all idiot lights or it starts. But also, if I drive it and it idles very low, it acts like it is going to die.
Should I start with new terminal clamps? Should I buy OEM or go to Advance Auto Parts?
