Default 2000 Prelude SH Clutch advise.

My son has a 2000 Prelude SH the clutch is slipping and needs to be replaced.

First question is how difficult is this to do. I have never worked on Honda's but I have worked on cars in my garage. I am far from a mechanic but I am mechanically inclined.

Second question. I have read that the ATTS has to be removed and I have heard it can be loosened up without being removed. Does anyone know if I can leave the ATTS in the car.

Third Question. What is best replacement clutch. I am leaning toward stock Exedy or possible the Stage one organic clutch kit.

Forth Question. If I decide to have this done in a shop what should I expect to pay. I have received several quotes and they are all around $1000.00 parts and labor. This seems high to me. Thoughts?
