96 EK hatch name Lola...LS swap build
Hello, I have a 96 ek hatch that i purchased with a d16y8 in it. Car didnt really run right when it was bought but i thought it would be just a little tuning up and things would be better.
The previous owner Installed the engine swap from a 00 civic ex. Had brand driver side axle, timing belt, alternator belt, radiator had been flushed a few times, new spark plugs and wires.
I installed new injectors, changed the oil and filter, installed the iat sensor for the harness, and tried to figure out how to hook up the exhaust sensor harness but just couldnt figure out how the harness was wired back up.
In the y8 there was a crower stage 2 cam and an aem trutime cam gear, blue ngk spark plug wires.
After the car was running decent, I figured it was safe to take it to the beach on memorial day weekend and spend a night down there. I began the trip and about an hour and a half into it the engine looses a high amount of power and i pulled over to a gas station checked everything. Thought the dizzy came loose and changed the timing. I re-adjusted the dizzy. Car cooled down and ran a little better. About 5 minutes into the trip on the way back home to play it safe, the engine blows. One hole in the block and two holes in the oil pan.
So now i have an ls swap to install in the car. The ls engine has type-r internals and i have a b16 non-vtec cylinder head that is currently being ported and polished to install on the b18ls with type-r internals. The flywheel has been resurfaced, have a 6 puck stage 3 clutch to install and an ebay header to install for the time being. Waiting on a mount and a shift linkage to arrive. Looked to see if my d series alternator will bolt up but i dont think it will work. Guessing i need to get a b series alternator and belt.
Here are some pics..

That was shortly after i purchased the car.

This its current state..

And everything together.

More to come when i find some time..
Let me know what ya think. Thanks for looking!!
