Default GSR transmission help. case questions

i have a 1996 integra GSR with a cracked transmission case on the back T mount. there are 3 bolts that go through and 2 of them completely broke off the case. I was thinking since the transmission shifts great and all still can i swap internals with a LS transmission ?? or maybe i can get just a bellhousing case replacement ?? any advice ?? If i was to swap internals id make sure to shim to get the right clearances and inspect all bearings and synchros while im in there of coarse.

All Hydro B-Series cases are the same Just replace the case.

As you stated..check all your clearances and your set.

.
wrong, GSR and ITR trans have different case because of the differential bearings depending on the year, some gsr have taper diff. bearings and ITR does not, so for example if you use a ITR case you will have to use the close differential bearings from the ITR on your gsr differential if your gsr has the taper diff bearing.

Cases are the same. You can interchange the bearing styles. We usually convert the GSR taper style bearings to offset ball bearings found in the Type R

Here is the kit we use:

Nope. It's not bad enough to affect it structurally. The only potential problem you make have is water or dirt getting into your clutch, even then I wouldn't really worry about it.

thanks guys for the quick reply and good info. its hard to search the message boards and find certain information like this. i kept on finding people that were not sure or find a bunch of people that say it doesnt fit and some say it would lol.. it makes you nervous to spend money when you arnt sure it'll fit ya know ? i will be looking for a used tranny locally and hopefully i can get my hands on a core cheap somewhere since i only need the case itself. in the meantime im gonna look and see what seals gaskets etc i will need and check into synchros and the ls 5th gear mod. this way i can see how much it will cost me all around.

You're welcome.

Pop rivit a piece of tin over the hole or use some JB weld maybe. I honestly don't think you'd have an issue with anything getting in even leaving it as is.
