just got a 01 civic lx, with 56k miles for 5500 bucks. good deal? is there any exterior mods I can put on to make this car look slick? Im a strait up VW guy but since mine has currently **** the bed I bought the honda. I know that the 1.7 SOHC is slower than dog poop so I dont want to even bother putting money into the engine, i just want to make it look good. something like tinted tails, side skirts, front lip, HID's? maybe carbon hood. Not really looking to spend a ton of money, just enough to make it look sleeeeaaakk..

Any IDeas on what I can do?

This forum generally isn't for opinions on what will make your car look better. The topic is subjective, not everyone will like the same thing.

Pick what you like and put it on (or in) your car.

 

Just check the members section to see what they did, regarding the engine everyone will tell you to either to K-swap or turbo for power gains. You have the D17A1 which DOES NOT HAVE VTEC so do not ask about making the popping noise. The cars can look really good as show cars if you are willing to spend money.

-Tint
-Front+rear lips, side skirts
-Rims
-Fogs
-HIDs

 

where can i find some stock smoked tails? I have looked everywhere and I can only find the smoked cheesy atezza ones

I think what he's trying to say is, "do a google search."

But you can always go to a tinting shop and tell them you want your lights tinted.

In my opinion, tinted lights tend to look kind of cheesy though... and in some areas they are illegal.

For side skirts/lip kits, I would go with OEM or the OEM replicas that you can find on ebay or craigslist.

On another note, $5500 is a pretty damn good deal for only 56,000 miles on it. What kind of VW did you have?

 

95 gti 2.0, it finally **** the bed, well it still runs, it just needs suspension all the way around. I just had enough of putting money into that car. I got the rears tinted and they do look pretty good, i just have to return and have them do it again cuz they messed up on a couple places. what do you think about a carbon front lip and hood> waste of money? i just wanna have my car look nice, i know it is slower than dog **** unless i swap the engine and i dont wanna do that.

 

CF hood/lip is up to you dude. but the CF isnt as durable as other materials.
