Default Front end shaking during acceleration after replacing axle and inner tie rod

I replaced my driver side axle and inner tie rod the other day and afterwards when i test drove it with the new parts in place i was experiencing a shaking when accelerating, it gets unbearable after about 20+mph and doesn't shake as much if you turn left and increases if you turn right. i talked to my friend about it and he thinks its a ball joint. figured i would make a thread here to see if i could get a definite answer. The car is a 2000 four door with a h22a.

I second that. The splines probably didn't seat all the way.

alright i torqued it down to 140 when i put it in as it said in the guide i was using for torque specs. what should i tighten it too?

and i torqued my wheels to 90. so that should be right?

i made sure the lugs are torqued to spec and the spindle nut is torqued over 150lbs,
so i'm thinking its a ball joint at the moment.

if the shake wasnt there b4 u put new parts probalbly bad parts... make sure everything is tight wheels should be torque to 80 foot lbs and wheel is seated right... dont think ur ball joint failed that quick... jack the front end up and shake the wheel side to side and up and down to make sure there no play if there is play that may be the problem... but my opinion bad axle

well i had shaking before i put the parts on but it wasnt nearly as bad and by replacing the parts it should have fixed it, i drove it after putting on the tie rod and alot of the shake was gone the only thing left was a small shake from the origional axle. now its like ten times as bad as that and i cant go over 20mph.

Did you use new or used parts?

I am wondering if you did something wrong, did you check a shop manual or the other side for reference?

sounds like you got a bad cv shaft. Where did you get it from and what grade did you get? There is a huge diff in rebuild quality. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE 2, 3 IN A ROW before getting one that was good

Ebay? I am betting it is either crap quality or the fitment is off.

Probably bad parts but it wouldn't be a bad idea to get an alignment.

Hate to say it, just get one from Advanced auto, if there is a problem you can take it back.

As for Ebay parts, another poster had an alum rad, it looked nice, but was crap.
