i have a 93 integra and recently it's been getting harder and harder to get in gear. first thing i adjusted the clutch cable, i made it about as tight as you possibly can and it seemed to help a little, but it's still a noticeable problem. second, i changed the transmission fluid. i put in 10w30 and synchromesh, which i've always used in my hondas and it's always made shifting buttery smooth. what else could it possibly be?

check your linkage. all the bushings in the shift stabilizer and shift rod
and tbh, i've heard syncromesh isn't all that good for brass syncros

 

i'll check the linkage to see if anything is loose, but if it's not that, any idea what else it could be? i read somewhere in another thread about a guy having a problem with a spring popping out of his clutch disc and getting lodged between the disc and pressure plate. i've never heard of that happening and i'm REALLY hoping that's not what this is.

 

if that were the problem, it would be much more pronounced

 

whew, well that's a relief! i don't have anywhere to drop a tranny right now.
