Help! Problem with d2b swap, d16y8 block and intermediate shaft!
recently started to install my d2b kit and see the back of my engine block D16Y8 And no have the three holes for the intermediate shaft adapter bolts. some possible solutions to this without having to change my engine block?
from looking on SF site it looks like you can only use a z6 block
i guess you could have it welded on but i dont know how that would hold up/work

Other than changing the block like you said, maybe keeping the long axle and changing the joint on the tranny side to the B-series size? probley not the answer your looking for but other than changing blocks I think that's your only other option. But if you figure something else out let us know!
A6/ sohc will work as well, but all the y blocks only have the single hole. Don't try to use it either or you'll pull the threads out.
Modification/fabrication. Find someone that knows what they are doing and have them build a different bracket for the half shaft. I've seen it done/mounted many different ways
Think there must be different variations on the D16Y8 blocks. Most people say they dont have them but we've gotten 2 here that have the provisions on the back. We've questioned before if it has been restamped but running the VIN's on the block told us that it was indeed from a 98 Civic EX.

I understand that different engines D16Y8, for bad luck I touch mine that no have the three holes :/ We must find a way to mount the shaft in this engine block, because the problem is that engine block is already installed the Dalton Sleeves ! Any idea is accepted! Thanks

You can swap in a passenger side spider gear and have a passenger side axle shaft made pretty cheap. Pretty much you have a long and short passenger axles. I help a Canadian dirt track guy and we used a stock long axle shaft out of a Accord, had a driveline line shop cut the splines for the smaller B pods (think it was $100), used 2 passenger side axle sleeves in a OBX diff (or oem spiders if stock diff) and its been abused for last 2 years no problems.
Some of the very early y8 used left over z6 castings.

You could probably get Raxles or DSS to make you an axle. But if it were me, I'd prefer the half shaft setup.
Check this guy out. I thought it looked pretty stout.

Thats for a ZC intermediate shaft, but it wouldnt be any different to make one for a B.
