Hey H-T,

I just put a 94 GSR in my 99 ek this past week. I am having trouble with the coolant lines though. There is a small tube that runs off the coolant inlet on the head. It is just a little metal tube that sticks out. I have no line for it and I am unsure as to where it runs to. It leaks out after the car warms up.

I have another hose that is disconnected and leaks (This hose runs right by the thermostat housing), but the hose is not nearly long enough to reach the metal tube off the inlet so I assume they do not go together. Should I plug the two up or just connect them and roll with it?

I looked at coolant line diagrams and couldn't find any pictures that were detailed enough to show these two lines.

The nipple that sticks out from your head is your heater hose. If your other hose is leaking replace it and get new clamps. You can buy hoses at Home Depot or Lowes.

 

The nipple I was referring to came off where the upper radiator hose meets the head. It's a pretty small pipe that comes straight off the top and makes a 90 and point at the back of the car.

I ended up just connecting the two.

 

If you can provide pictures it would help a ton. Shouldn't be to hard, everything should line up.

 

Another quick question. Am I able to cap off or plug up any of the coolant lines? Some seem unneeded, but I could be wrong.

 

All coolant lines can be T'd together. I would just do that instead of capping it.

 

I ended up just running those two lines together and my leaks are gone. Just running into a weird idle after warm up and then idle goes so low it dies on me. All vacuum lines are connected or sealed. No CEL codes as far as I know.
