Disregarding the fact some have the door mounted seatbelts. Are the doors interchangeable within the years? Or are certain years a bit longer than the other. Any links or past posts is appreciated.

 

88-91 crx chassis are the same dimensions, the doors physically are the same size

 

Pillar mounts only work on corresponding years and the same for the door mounts, 88's will "fit" the laters but with out major modification you will get wind noise and leaks.
Trust me, I got 88's on my 91. Work look and feel perfect but not without a lot of work.
I also did a write up showing the false 88 has no supports so its lighter info if thats why you were wanting to do this.

 

ya i didnt think the doors were 100% interchangeable. I heard there were some very minor differences and wouldnt exactly be 100% and not have wind noise.

not quite, overall dimension may be the same, and theyre probably slightly different, but most importantly, the door jams are NOT the same so the doors are definitely NOT compatible.

and putting a 89-91 in a 88 is just impossible.

glad i live in Canada where all of our ef generation had pillar mounted seat belts, making doors from different years swap like nothing

 

USDM 88 doors are different from 89-91. You can throw JDM EF doors on an USDM88 but they wont fit USDM89-91. Slight differences at the B pillar because of that tacky door mounted belt. I use to strangle myself all the time when I had a 91dx

I did but not the rest of the people, it has been a while so I also needed some clarification.

 

I'm actually doing something opposite what most are wanting to do. I'm trying to fit USDM doors on a 90 full/complete JDM CRX. So what I'm gathering is that all JDM chassis is compatible to USDM 88 CRX only. So the only doors that will actually fit are the 88 CRX.

I just want to clarify that. Does that mean 89-91 USDM CRX doors wont fit on this 90 JDM CRX chassis at all? I'm just curious if it even just fits. Not concerned with wind noise etc. Just curious if it does fit somewhat or not at all.

 

Your JDM chassis door jams WILL NOT allow this.

What do you do if you have 88 doors on a 89, mines like that and I have nowhere to mount seat belts. I have a pair of 93 prelude seats, buckles, and belts and would like to use them in my crx.

 

You get the right door and throw away the seat that doesn't belong.

 

Does 88 door fit to a 91 crx ? These are Euro cars not US.

 

Just another piece of information. The door panels are longer on the 88, but can be modified to fit on the 89-91. I did it on my car, as I like the pocket, and went with a four point.
