i have an automatic 94 Lx and lately have been having LOTS of headaches and the newest one is well i think a bad tranny or clutch


today my car started Rolling back something its never done before, when i give it gas it shoots up to about 3000 - 4000 rpm then jerks forward and starts moving also sometimes my tiers peel when i accelerate this car is really starting to Rape my pockets based on these symptoms any ideas?

 

Check the fluid level.

 

fluid was ok but it was blackish? but i added a little bit more

 

Definitely should not be blackish, should be a deep red/burgundy. My best suggestion would be to take it somewhere and have the transmission flushed. Not just new fluid put in, they'll hook it to a machine that flushes all the old crap out.

 

Ummm...automatics dont usually come with a clutch....unless you arw talking about over running clutches inside the tranny...

 

Maybe ur torque converter is shot or maybe you bands are getting weak...
