97 del sol rod knock. help!
I have a 97 del sol with a d16y8 that just got a rod knock. before i got my gsr in my civic hb, i had a turbo d16z6 that also had a rod knock so that engine is just sitting. i need to know if this is fixibale, and how much it would cost me to do it. thanks.
Cost? Can't tell you. If you can do it yourself it will only cost you some parts. If not then plan on $60-$70 per hour from a shop.
And the only way to tell if it's "fixable" is to pull of the oil pan and start inspeciting.

My opinion that motor is not worth fixing. The Y8 is know for throwing rods due to the fact that there oiling system is the worst Honda ever made. It going to cost you about the same as it would be to swap in a different single cam motor. I had a Y8 that did the same thing and i bought all the stuff to rebuild it and then found a Z6 in perfect running order for cheaper then what i spent on the parts to fix the Y8. Up to you on what you want to do but in my opinion it not worth the time or the money to fix because its going to happen agian down the road.
yea its already happened before and it just did it again because the guy who did it didnt tell me my oil was leaking badly. when i pull the pan off how do i know whats good and bad?
