I have a OBD1 turbo GSR engine. while tuning, i was able to do 3rd gear pulls to redline with no problems while i was running 6,7,8 and all the way to 12 PSI. once we raised the boost by 4 pounds up to 16 PSI, i was unable to make a full pull because my tuner said i was getting "ignition cut" around 7000 rpm or so. I am running a MSD cap and rotor, MSD blaster SS coil and new OE honda wires.
NGK BKR7E at .033" is my current spark plug.
any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

i havnt tried anything yet since im just starting to dig into this problem. i will check and report the gap shortly
You "should" be on Heat range 8.. and your gap should "start" @ .025..lower if you must.
16psi shouldn't blow out a gap @ .025.

isnt an 8 range a little colder than necessary for a 16 psi gsr motor? ive been using the bkr7e's for about half a decade now never had an issue.
might be worth a try to put the oem parts back in the distributor. i know ive seen many oem wires turn a faded dark greenish color on the outside in the past but they have had many more miles than you have on yours

above a gap of .025"-.030" has been mentioned. does that mean that my .033" gap could cause the ignition to cut out under full load?
Nope..
Theres boosted cobalts running .045 gap and they dont blow out. so im sure your safe.
Personally, i would run an OE ignition as ive heard bad things with MSD for street cars. If your car was blowing 450 WHP+ i could def see the MSD set up. Im putting my $$ on the MSD causing your pain.

i would normally do that but it doesnt do it now since I'm at 12 psi. It did it when the boost was turned up during the tuning process. I'm getting ready for a trip to ill garage for a new tune and I don't want to pay all the money to get my car put to them and then not be able to make hardly anymore power.

by cutting out do you mean ignition/car turning off. I am having some problems too. Car drives fine but under load at about 7k rpm car turns off. I havnt been able to data log with my tuner yet just trying to get an idea of what could be going on. Im running NGK 7s
At first you thought it a "misfire"..now you think its a 2step??
If you have ign cut, chosen on your EMS, the ign cut is violent and will make the rpm gauge jump and what not and "feel" like a two step. If your tuner doesn't know which one is happening, i'd take it to another tuner.
