I have a question....
I know I've asked this before but I didn't get no answer to it just smart remarks.
My question is, will a '96-'00 D15 fit my '89 EF Sedan? I ask because my car just burns the hell out of oil and I dont wanna do anything with that motor no more kuz its not very far from 300k miles.
Oh and to avoid your smart comments again, I DID GOOGLE IT.

Yes you can, Which motor would you use? If you use pick up a d16y7, then read this:

Um that engine was only available South Africa, Venezuela, and Trinidad & Tobago. Still, if he did have that engine, it would be the same as a d16y7 as for install..He can stay OBD0, and reuse the intake, fuel management...mind you bets are off if it's a D15Z6 or D15Z7

neight all D series motors should fit in your car. u just have to worry about the cable/hydro tranny problem if your switching the tranny too. but you shouldnt have a problem. and 96-00 was the D16Y7 (DX-LX) D16Y8 (EX and SI of 96-98) and B16A (99-00 SI). i never knew a d15 was built for that year
There's a few things you'd need to do if you pick the D16Y7 but they're pretty minor. You'd need to reuse your cable transmission and all your OBD0 sensors.
I was thinking about pretty much taking the new motor and putting it in. Would that work or would I have to change the manifold as stated above? I'm really only doing this swap because I know someone who totalled their car and is selling me the whole motor for a couple hundred bucks.
what motor is it exactly they y7 or y8
if its the y7 swap mani and convert to mpfi n stay obd0
if its a y8 u need to convert to obd1 for vtec to work bro

Then it's a no brainer. Pull the oil burner out, scrap the the block, save the head. Drop the y7 in and install the dizzy, intake and exhaust and drive..
1) Use driver side motor mount from old block
2) Make adapter to fit lower rad hose properly over thermostat housing (different angle)
3) Extend temp sensor wires as sensor on back of block now on thermostat housing
4) Trim upper rad hose as the angle is different
5) Readjust clutch cable as it'll probably be way out
The Y7 was my first swap and I managed to do it without too many headaches
