99 civic motor mount nut unwelded from inside frame :((((
Really need some help here folks. I changed my own timing belt and water pump and I wanted to remove the drive side upper engine mount to reach things.
When loosening one of the 3 bolts, the nut became unwelded from inside the frame, argh! Now I can't tighten the bolt and I hear clunking sounds when engaging into 1st gear or going over bumps :-(.
Is the only solution to cut into the frame from the other side inside the wheel well? It seems Honda didn't put that bolt on correctly last time.
If you look into the picture, you'll see it's between the engine mount and the power steering resevoir.

Start cutting. You're talking about a 12 year old car. These things start happening. Especially in climates that are prone to rust.
