97 Civic Stalling out no torque
I have a 97 Honda Civic, 5 speed, AC, non VTech with 185000 miles. Burns about 1/2 quart oil per gas tank.
It stalls out from a dead stop with the AC on unless its revved to 2000 rpm or more. Above 2000 rpm it makes pretty good power. The problem has gotten worse as its gotten hotter.
Changed the IAC valve, fixed a bad manifold exhaust leak tried to idle it up by adjusting the accelerator cable. No help.
Is there something I am missing.
Had a water pump seize, break the timing belt, bent 14 valves and had it fixed. The problem started after that. Could it be the cam timing is off?
I am no mechanic by far, just trying to make a decision on what to do next.
