i got an engine check light about a month ago. I just now got it checked at autozone and it came up with a code P0135. Quick google shows that its "P0135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)" anybody know where exactly this sensor is located and if i can do it myself?

 

P0135 on 2004/2005 models is Air Fuel Ratio Sensor (Sensor 1) Heater Circuit Malfunction...

If you have a D17A1, it's right on top of the manifold.
If you have a D17A2, it's just below where the manifold connects to the A-pipe. (also known as downpipe)

do you know what part number it is? should i replace it with an OEM or aftermarket is just fine.
Also is it just going to be the sensor? or should i even place the wiring harness too? or is it just one kit

Results of people using aftermarket sensors are mixed. Some people have no issues (or simply have not updated their old threads after using an aftermarket sensor) while other people do. It's hit-and-miss, I guess.

Personally, if/when I need to replace one, I'm going to use an OEM sensor.

^^ Yes. It throws off the air/fuel mixture which may lead to disastrous consequences (burnt valves, pistons, etc.). Plus your fuel mileage probably isn't real good.

These Hondas seem to be pretty finicky about O2 sensors. Recommend biting the bullet and getting OEM. I know it's like $250 but, you can do it yourself with a $7 O2 sensor wrench available at any autoparts store.

okay so i changed my sensor and my engine light is still on. is it supposed to go away imediately or do i let the engine run for a little bit?

 

Youll need to have the Code Cleared, You can do that with a OBD2 scanner, but if you dont wanna do that a easy way would be to pull the #6 fuse in the engine bay panel(next to the battery) take out the fuse and wait a minute, put it back in and your light will now be off, assuming you fixed the problem that cause the light to begin with.

Figured I'd bump this one since I also have a P0135 code on my wife's '04 Civic EX.

Found the OEM part for $230 from the dealer, but also seem to have found many on Rock Auto's site for ~$150. Is there a particular DESNO P/N that would work, or should I just get the OEM to be on the safe side. For some reason I thought DENSO was the OEM supplier.

Anyone know what fuse it is? I want to check the fuse on my wife's car before I buy a $200 sensor. I changed all 4 sensors in my Jeep with a similar code and it ended up being a bad fuse/wire issue. Thanks.
