Default will 2004 chevy aveo pistons and rods fit in my d16z6?

so im doin some research here and the displacement of the etec 1.6 from a chevy aveo is 1598cc and the d16z6 displacement is 1590cc the d16z6 rod length is 137mm i was looking into soethings and people are telling me to get suzuki vitara rods.. well the 2004 chevy aveo has the same rods and internals as the suzuki swift which has same rods and internals as the vitara.. the only reason im asking is becasue my buddy has an aveo he bought new rods and pistons and whole bottom end rebuild kit and it not being used now and they cant send it back.... and i need rods and pistons for my turbo d16z6 build.. letme know...

No,

the bore size on the chevy 1600 is 3.1"

The bore size on a d16z6 is 75mm (3")

ok so u have just told me that the pistons wont fit.. but unfortunatly u have not told me that since the suzuki swift and vitara rods are the same and that the swift and aveo are same, will the rods fit? and if i wanted to just get my cylinder walls shaved enough to allow of the tiny extra clearence for the .01 difference i could use them right..

You cannot bore your cylinders that far. You can go .02 safely, no more. Just get some Vitara pistons, they're not expensive. Or find some pistons from another Honda engine that will give you lower compression.

You'll have to have them for something 16 valve and with big enough valve reliefs to keep from having piston interferance.

Not .010, the Aveo pistons are .100 = one tenth of an inch. You can't even bore out a Chevy V8 that much, .060 is the biggest most people go in a V8.

Anyways, I was reading elsewhere that the Vitara pistons are shorter, so the piston sits lower in the cylinder at TDC for lower compression.

I mostly build Ford V8's, so I don't know if they make dished pistons (the top is concave) or thicker head gaskets for Hondas. Those are other ways to lower compression ratio.

Also you don't "have to" lower your compression to turbo. You can keep stock compression and you'll just have to be a little more careful, but you'll make the same power sooner with less boost.

I've never seen anyone run vitara rods in a Honda so probably not, they all run aftermarket for the most part. Btw in regards to the pistons, no one runs stock vitara pistons, they all run aftermarket pistons for a vitara.

Vitara rods are an OLD trick to lower compression ratio. Many many people did it back in the day.

But your probably better off getting some aftermarket rods anyways.

Some people swear by the vitara piston set up but IMO the compression is too low. Just look around and get your self some forged pistons and eagle rods. Trust me boost a motor with 10.5 comp and you'll be more than happy8

Z1 pistons have pretty thin ring lands, especially compared to aftermarket vitara pistons.

i wouldn't touch a GM product with a stick. There is a reason the aveo was short-lived.

why is this even a question is what i'm wondering... the pretty much unlimited supply of honda parts out there, and your asking is a GM product will work in your honda... just messed up man.

the aveo was short lived because it was a daewoo with a chevy badge on it. i know this is "honda" tech but don't be so narrow minded about other brands. except hyundai those are just uncool
