honda-tech people i know people are trying to find out how to remove the sunroofs because it stop working but when it time to do a change over you cant find no info on the overhaul and pictures. well i did mines today as of 7-8-11 because mines did stop working and i could not find no info before tearing things down and breaking something well here goes my write up with pictures enjoy guys hope this help people out before removing things bad and good comments are welcome.

step one you need tools
flat head screw driver
needle nose pliers
8mm socket
10mm socket
17mm socket
3/4 extension
turtle wax and beach cleaner if you really want to clean the plastic and everything to look good



step 2 tearing things down

the oh **** hanger

if you have a Canada model like me you take this down

visors

remove the light

8mm bolts

clothes hanger


removing the plastic sides above doors

removing the weather hard rubber from frame take off completely

take out diver seat belt 17mm

plastic off

remove the plastic stubs with philps head that holds the roof which they dont lol

remove rear stubs in the back with needle nose

removing pass rubber strip

remove hard rubber around the sun roof easy pull off

now roof should be hanging by removing the plastic around the car so carefully remove it with out bending it or it will look ugly lol

remember when removing the 17mm bolts for the seat belts it gives you play for the rear plastic to pop off not remove fully but to pop off the top and slide the panel

step 3 sunroof time take down

remove water drains theres 4 hoses





unplug power clips


10mm bolts 2 front 2 rear 2 pass 2 driver






and it drops make sure you have a extra person it would be easy when it drops and to put back up when to put back up you do it the same way you took it down by putting it back up

time took about a hr and a half with careful

hope it came out perfect enjoy

 

That looks easier than I was imagining, did you take pictures of disassembling the actual sunroof, cleaning the old grease out, etc?

Guess I have the motivation to tear mine apart tomorrow and find out why it doesn't work without physical help.

its is easy dude i thought i was going to run into dumb things but i didnt but no i had another sunroof so i replaced it but i will take pics of the old one to crack it open and see why it was grind gears and fix it hopefully once you take all the 8 bolts it drops i mean drops lol so watch your head i was expecting it when it dropped lol if you need any pointers pm ill help you out but the pictures should help alot thats why i did it

after doing this i tried the sunroof switch and i just hear a single click. does anybody know whats wrong?

 

Before ripping your sunroof out, try assisting it on it's way up. Just push the back edge up a little as you hit the button.

 

After removing the sunroof, what is your plan? Replace the motor, clean it all, scoop some new white grease in and hope it helps it? Weld a patch panel in? Aftermarket sunroof?
