I just recently bought a SLS Turbo manifold that was made for PTE turbos but I have a GT35R with the Tial Vband housing, so when I try to put them together it seems like the PTE flange is slighly larger than the Tial Flange. So my question is Will I have to buy a Tial Vband flange to match the turbine housing or what can I do to make them work??

 

I was under the impression you couldnt mix and match those flanges because of the size. Someone correct me if Im wrong.

 

Yea they are different, so I ordered a Tial flange for my manifold.

 

thats pretty lame. they need to get a universal size for the vband stuff. i know bullseye just released some that are 3" vband as well so i assume those are tial compatible.

You can utilize a PTE turbo on the TIAL flange but not vice versa. The ID/OD are the same, its the locating ring on the PTE that is slightly larger that wont allow a TIAL housing fitment.

 

unless of course you want to machine the receiver on the tial housing to the larger precision male ring.

 

Its all fixed now. Tial is very proud of their flanges and clamps. :-(

 

Your setup should be pretty nasty!
