On the V6 there is all three sensors. There is a combo sensor (TDC/CYP sensor assembly) behind the front camshaft, the crank sensor picks up off the crank pulley. These sensors are behind the timing covers. The connector for the TDC/CYP is attached to the oil dipstick tube and the crank sensor connector is near the oil filter housing. I'm not very familar with single digit codes on OBD2 vehicles. Do you know what the 4 digit codes are ex.."P1362"?

So i have to pull the t-belt cover to get to the combo sensor assembly, and test it correct ? I dont have a DSO but i do have a decent ohm tester.
The sensor at the crank seems like the only one i can get to the plug to test easily.

oh ya, it does only trip the codes after the motors warm, then it pretty much wont run.
Im a d,b,f,h series guy, this is a friends accord im just helping her with, its hard to find info
on this 2.7 V6 everything on Hondatech if F series for accords.
The crank sensor is pretty oily down there, that oil filter is NASTY... but i would think that would through code 4 so im still leaning towards the dual sensors.

OK... I tested it, it was bad. Got the new one today.
Now that i have the front cam cover off, i see the sensors... kinda hidden.
Do i have to pull the COMPLETE side cover and t-belt to change this sensor ?

Nevermind... I carefully just slid the cam gear off, with the belt, swapped the sensor
re-checked timeing all looks good.
Battery died so after its charged ill give it a go.

2 days later the code is back, 8 and 9... brand new sensor so thats not it.
Ok pretty stumped... Could dirty points on the cap and rotor cause a missfire that
trips up the cam/tdc sensor ? I know on 4cyl these sensors are in the dizzy.
What else could be connected to that sensor ?

Ok, this is rare but I have seen diode ripple cause electrical interference with pick up sensors but it usually would occur a lot quicker than 2 days. You could try to run the vehicle with the alternator unplugged for a while to see if the problem returns. Did you check to see if there problems with the wires going from the connector to the ECM?
Whats a good way to check from connector to ECM ?
Ive had that prob with alts before also, but ya this problem takes a little time
to show its self, makes test driving it hard because i dont want to get stranded.

A wiring issue is far reaching because for the most part Honda wiring is pretty stout. If it were a wiring problem I would suspect the problem would show quicker. Was there any cruddy green build up on the harness side connector? So why did you replace the combo sensor assembly? What was the resistance of each sensor? Where did you get your sensor assembly?
I dont think its wiring either, its bone stock pretty clean car.

I just saw a service bulletin concerning the codes you're getting. For some reason the bulletin is saying that if you get both of those codes at the same time to replace the Crankshaft position sensor even though the codes aren't related to the Crank sensor. How about measuring resistance of the Crank sensor? Post a pic of your meter and let me see what settings you have and I'll let you know how to hook up.
Also the crank sensor, is pretty nasty looking, oily dirty ect ect Cam sensor was
pretty clean. Im gonna change out the cam sensor for stock again tomorrow, return
the new one and exchange it for the crank sensor.

You had it on the right setting. Put it on 20k ohm and before you do any testing touch your meter leads together and see what reading you have. Put one meter lead on one sensor connector terminal and the other meter lead on the other sensor terminal. You should get a stablized reading. Let me know what you get. Take pictures if you want and let me see what exactly you get.
Pretty sure i found it... Pulled it apart and the crank angle sensor has a crack
in the plastic holding the metal part of the sensor. So i bet it vibrates and trips
up the tdc-cam position sensor some how.
Im gonna install a new crank angle tomorrow.
