ok so all my windows such as front pass front driver and sunroof all lack power they are super slow especially my sun roof i sometimes have to help it close or open i thought maybe it was just a battery issue so i replaced the battery but that wasnt the problem. i have two other ideas as to what it could be:
altenator (but it is recharging my battery fine thats kinda why i wanna lean away from that)
or the motors for the windows themselves but all three at the same time is kinda suspicious
was wondering what other things it might possibly be

You need to check your wiring. Something isnt letting it get enough power to the motors.

 

what kinda of power should it be getting?

 

maybe the batery?

 

Check for 12 volts at each motor and a good ground if all check good the motors are going bad

 

Check for blown fuses under the hood and dash.

 

i replaced the battery and if the fuses were blown wouldnt they just not be working at all

I had a headlight fuse blow on my cavalier, and it was still drawing power from another source in the wiring, it was just very dim... Its possible... Also, it could be the electrical load panel

 

Thread title edited. Spray some silicone lubricant into the window glass rubber side channels.

 

x2, its worth a try. On manual windows when the channel is dry its difficult to roll the windows up and down.

 

yea i just picked some silicone up today actually lol i used some on my old 2000 civic and it helped a lil but i will check for blown fuses or if im not getting enough power through out the wires and will spray the silicone and will get back at ya guys

 

silicone worked for a couple days good power to the windows and no blown fuses but the slowness is back

 

You may need to adjust the position of the regulator and glass or to replace the door run channel.

 

I don't get that one Ron. The windows will be all oily because of the silicone no?

 

Unless you spray an excess of the lubricant into the channels, the lubricant will not be visible since only the non-visible edges of the glass buried into the channels contacts the lubricant.

Good info here.gotta try this on the front passenger door window on my 99 Lx..it has THE SLOWS..

 

sometimes it could me the motor on the regulator. Try taking out the regulator and seeing if there is a lot of gunk in the motor. If ther is clean it out that should help. Aswell you could replace the regulator.

Replace your Window Channel seals. Lubing them is only a temporary bandaid and makes a mess of your glass. New, they are lined with a felt on the inside that the glass glides on.. As they get old and dry out, the felt falls/wears off and exposes rubber.. The rubber (like your tires on the road) will grip the glass, slowing your windows down.. I have to do this to my 95 Civ.. If you ask nicely, The dealer can give you about 20% off list which puts you kinda close to internet prices (within about $10) and usually you can get them next day and support local business.

 

check for a proper grounding for the circut. if there isnt sufficent ground the 12v required to power the windows wouldnt reach the motor properly.
