which is the best d series engine for a 92 cx hatchback.
sorry i tried to do some searches for more info on the d series engines, and just found light info on engines like the d15 and d16 y8 or whatever, pretty confusing, seems like their are lot, i just wont a sohc vtec engine for my cx hatchback since they seem really cheap, and maintence wise it will save me some bucks. i want to make my car all n/a, just intake header and exhaust and leave it to that, but still want that zip thanks. any help would be nice. ONCE AGAIN i did do a search.
D16Z6 or get a 88-91 Si blocksince it is a closed deck block and put the D16Y8 head on it. That head flows better then the D16Z6.
so is that the sohc vtect from a ex civic then. and what years or did that engine run from 92-00 ex civics.
go D16Z6 then turbo!! Yeah its cheap, my trannies cost between $150 to $250 tops a whole engine $350! Ah! A good engine to start with. And yeah my car can play with the big DOHC brothers.
D16Z6 Comes in 92-95 Civic Si, and 93-95 Civic EX Coupe and Sedan. Its OBD I unlike the other EX engines found in the 6th gen 96-00 Civic EX's I believe those are D16y8's not sure.
