What CV Axles and Struts to get? 2000 civic si
Just picked up a 2000 Civic SI and would like to know what CV axles and struts to buy. I'm going to keep her stock height and stock power for now. might end up with a turbo down the road so if there are some good CV axles that can handle a little more power and wont break the bank that would be good as well.

From: TRILLINOIS....WAY downtown, jerky.
The struts depend on the springs being used. I use Koni Yellows with stock ITR springs on my EM1. Well...my girlfriend's EM1. Good combo. Not too low, really nice ride, good performance, etc.
I bought Raxles several years ago and they have held up well to daily driving. For new axles they aren't too expensive either.
For my other Civic I bought new NAPA axles (not re-man) a couple years ago and the outer joints are already starting to wear out. I am very easy on this car too.

I second what FlewByU recommended- the OEM CV axles should be sufficiently strong enough to handle most enthusiast's power goals, save for insanely set-up drag strip beasts pushing 900whp

However, I wouldn't trust NAPA parts in my forced-induction Civic because I've had some bad experiences using their parts in the past. And since OEM CV axles for the Si could be bought all day for $190 at most discounted OEM Honda parts sites like hondapartsnow.com, there really is no compelling reason to potentially compromise the reliability of your Civic just for the sake of saving a few pennies here and there.
Just my two cents..
If your OEM axles are going bad, I recommend raxles, $120ish per side.
NAPA axles gave me nothing but trouble the last time I used them and my time and aggravation is worth more than the few bucks I saved by using them.
For stock height shocks, KYB GR-2's are fine.
fyi, our cars have shocks, not struts.
