Got her back from the shop a few days ago. Did a mild break/wire tuck and got the bay resprayed. It's far from being complete, and I know it's not going to be to everyone's liking, but anywho here she is:

it's not often we get posts where people are happy to have devalued their car ripping out the abs and painting the bay blue.....

 

I'm going with a complete color change. When I got the vehicle it was just a plain shell. We (shop guy and I) figured since the motor was out to go ahead and get the bay resprayed a different color than the OEM. I won't keep the car Milano Red, so we went ahead and picked a color that will give me different options once I choose a color. I'm going for the two tone look, but this is not permanent.

If I do decide to respray the whole car back to the OEM color I'll get EVERYTHING painted again. Right now the outside is a 7/10 condition. Like I said it's not to everyone's liking but it's my car at the end of the day.

I have the same car, besides it is the "Special Edition" so no VTEC but I really like the colour of your engine bay. Do you know the colour code or a generalized name for the colour? I plan to paint my brake calipers, and grill area a blueish colours.

painted engine bays are sooo tacky..no lie

 

its deffinatly an interesting taste in a bay color but hey its your car

you should get some headers though, they will make the motor look alot cleaner and help with the flow.

Does it have any pearl in it? I cant tell from the pic. I always liked the late 90's audi s4 tricolor blue. It reminds me of that a little.

i dont see why ppl are hating on him for this color difference....red wheels on a green or blue car dont go either neither does a purple or gold engine bay on a red car yet they turn up in magazines, everyone has their own style so stop hating and appreciate the mans craftsmanship and effort.

 

almost reminds me of spiderman right now. looks good though, especially with the engine wire tucking.

 

I wish my paint looked as nice as that first shot. It's your car so do what you want, since it was a shell.

 

I like the car with the color engine bay very unique and sticks out isn't that the point if you go to a meet or show, also it's your car. blue goes good with red like bronze with green. SO clean love red DC2s like mine.

 

I like it. Clean. I'm getting my engine bay ready for paint. Going with flat black tho. Wanted metallic grey but they only had 1 can -.- my brother and I are doing light wire tuck today as well. Might keep my abs. But I'd rather take it out
