attn roma red ek's. my engine bay is a different color red. is this normal?
i just got a 99 roma red dx hatch and as i was cleaning the engine bay, i noticed it was a different shade of red. it almost looks like it could possibly be a base coat with no clear coat. i didn't notice it when i first got the car because it was so dirty. is this normal or was my car possibly repainted? i think the underside of the hood is also the same color as the engine bay. i'm not sure though because i haven't cleaned it yet. any help would be greatly appreciated.

yo *** gots a repainted cah yo!
look on the fenders and door jams and trunk lining (and underside of trunk lid) and see if you see a visible paint line. If there is one then it's definitely a repaint...if not...could mean they were careful enough to do all these parts.
at which point...if you have a moonroof, you'll get the telltail as most shops no matter how much detail they pay attention to when hiding a paint job will not rip out the headliner and take out the moonroof to repaint that inner area.
open it up as much as you can and look good along the edge and look for a paint line...
look on the fenders and door jams and trunk lining (and underside of trunk lid) and see if you see a visible paint line. If there is one then it's definitely a repaint...if not...could mean they were careful enough to do all these parts.

1996-2000 civics are notorious for having way different colored engine bays. the worst would have to be Vogue Silver Metallic. The engine bay looks like a wierd shade of white rather than silver.

Strange. Mine looks almost perfect compared to the rest of the paint!
EDIT: And i have a VSM hatch.
