i have cp pistons and eagle rods. i know they say it's supposed to be a floating wrist pin and isn't supposed to really be tight anywhere. ive heard if its tight in the piston thats fine but it needs to be loose in the small rod hole.

on three of my pistons/rods the rod can move back and forth without the wrist pin rotating much. which is the way it should be. on my last piston/rod the wrist pin rotates with the rod and moves within the pistons wrist pin housing as opposed to the small rod hole. but it is not tight in the rod. the pin slides through the rod fairly easily but when all put together grasps onto the rod moreso than the piston.

is this going to be a problem? ive read mixed stories about this. it seems though most of the time people actually come out and say that the pin was tight going into the rod. thats not really the case, its more "snug" and i can only prevent the pin from rotating with the rod if i hold the sides of it.

 

you need to get them honed at a machine shop...very cheap..ttake the pins with u and the rods..
