Stock 1996 Civic EX - Buying and Replacing Window Regulator
Preface: This is me apologizing in advance for showing ignorance about forum rules or cars in general. Sorry! Let me know.
Also I know very little about car repair in general but I'm learning slowly.
Anyway, I have a stock 1996 4-door Civic EX and my back window keeps falling down. The motor works because I can pull the window down, sort of, so a friend of mine said I needed to replace the regulator.
Two questions. Where can I find a good guide on how to do this, and second - where should I look to buy a replacement regulator and what's a reasonable price? Do I need to buy one with a new motor or can I just use the one I have now?

I've found guides on replacing regulators, the more important part of my question was the second, which is what kind of price am I looking to get and do I need to buy it with the motor or not (can you even buy regulators without motors)
Also I searched "1996 civic regulator " in this forum and I only got 2 pages of results, none too helpful except THIS, but even then I'm not sure what exactly I need to buy or if its a good deal.

You can buy just the regulators. If you look at the Majestic Honda link you provided it says as much.
But before you do anything did you actually pull the door panel and inspect it yourself instead of listening to what someone is just telling you off the cuff?

go to a pick and pull----civic door panels are only held on by clips and 2 screws --takes mins to get the door skin off, and have a looksie.
I got a regulator out of a pick and pull (actually I got 4 of em) they charged me 20 (for all 4) but as I researched online, its a real weak point of civics- so, I took em all.
As for changing them, I dont think you really need a guide- take the door panel off. 1 screw is near the edge of the door- the others are under the door handle - with the regulator its only going out one way-

its all nuts and bolts think of it that way. have something to hold the window glass up like a lazy friend or a suction cup. two bolts holding the glass to the regulator and a few for the motor and another guide. not hard at all.
you can buy just the regulator on ebay, i got mine for like 30 bucks (from doorman which makes oem replacements, direct bolt on) with shipping and install is pretty easy with some basic tools
