Default Bleed the cooling system question

I just bleed my cooling system, and towards the end of say 25 mins, it spilled some coolant out the neck, is that normal?

After I had to add quite a bit of coolant, where does the coolant go if there were no leaks and the neck was full at the start of the bleed?

you still have a bubble in the system, just top it up over the next couple of days and you should be fine

That could have just been the final burp of an air bubble caught in the system when your thermostan opened at temp.

How do I know if I still have air?

The blurp of coolant through the neck meant there was air blurping out?

Yes. Air behind it pushed it out, or you have too much coolant...

The bleeding process of the coolant system IMO is dumb and a long waste of time. Drain the coolant by loosening the t-bolt, then pour it back in and watch for burps. Works way better, takes 10 minutes.

It is not that easy, when you bleed it you run it with heater on, to purge the entire system of air.

It actually is that easy. I just did it last week. You don't actually have to have the heater on just turn it to hot but not actually on. Forget about standing in front of your cooling system and waiting for bubbles for about 30 minutes . 10 mins Drain,Refill,Burrrrrp.Done.

our cars have manual heat valves, turn it to heat and it opens the valve... You dont have to run the blower.

Would anything bad happen if I ran the blower too?

You will know if there is still air in the system. Before I bled my coolant, the temp gauge in the cluster shot all the way up. After the air was out of the system, it didn't go past midpoint.

I have have been checking it, orig it was going past half way from time to time at idle say 3/4 up, that is why I bleed it, I know the fan is working so I decided to bleed.

Funny after I bleed it, it seems to start from cold quicker, it always had a slight hesitation to cold start, can this be it can be easier starting now?

Maybe you have a faulty thermostat?

Seems ok for the last few days after bleeding, if it had a bad thermostat wouldn't it go say 3/4 way up even when driving?
