Default what gauge for alum. pro stock wing?

What gauge aluminum metal are you making your pro stock wings from? im gonna make mine myself. actually i wouldnt know if it would be called pro stock style its more like the one chris miller has on the nrg-tech/cmr hatch.

20 gauge or maybe even 22. Designed properly you don't need massive material. You also will have a hard time forming 16 aluminum to the proper wing shape.

Yeah, brace it properly and you can go pretty thin.

Are you using rods and spherical joints to brace it?

oh ok i was thinking it would be a abit tough to form the oem wing with 16 gauge. im hitting up the metal shop this weekend and ill talk to them a bit more. thanks

yeah im gonna at least have 2 rods.. ive been looking for some nice rods that arent thick and huge. im not looking to make them cus im not a welder.. so if anyone can point me in the right direction for some nice rsupport rods that would be great.

im looking to have the over all length 20"

we use .040 (20g) mostly for things like this. use .060 for the faster vehicles that are gonna see a lot more force than a fwd car.

i used .040 for this one. quarter max sells a pro stock strut rod kit( around 225.00 )
