My cv axles is bad with out a doubt. but i want to know if this is a bad bearing in the trans.

The passanger side axle can move up down and back and forth on the trans where the diff bearings sit?
there shouldn't be any play there should it?

third gear is gone so the axle and trans is getting swapped but i have to drive back to georgia on it from north carolina. Im scared. damn
