Default This window problem is giving me a major headache

Ok, so i took off my door panel only to find a big white screen that looks like it was melted on to the door itself, so im not gonna touch that. So i took a look at the window. At the left and right lower hand sides of the window there are 2 screws, one fell off so i pulled out a pool stick and attached a magnet and got it. I then noticed that the bar that comes up and down was hitting the outer part of my door hard, so i figure that, looking from the inside of my car out, that the window should be behind the bar. On the bar there are 2 openings on each side, looks like

O = o , slide the head of the screw in the big whole and move it over, on both sides, I kept trying to engage both sides of the window with some success, everytime i got both in, the window was not straight, wasnt on the track, or the bar that moves up and down(has the ability to move left and right) was to much to the right or to much to the left.

Someone must know a way to get this to work, some advice, experience...its the front passenger window.

Thanks guys

Jon

Don't be afraid of that plastic screen...thats there to keep moisture out...

The 2 holes on the bottom of the window regulator(bracket) should be uniform in size..just big enuff so the bolt can go throught the hole... not O == o

The window should be secure in the regulator and should not move "side to side"..

to get the window adjusted properly, loosen the 2 10mm bolts that run horizontal to each other at the rear/mid section of the door.. these are adjusting nuts..

put the window all the way up so it seals properly within the run channel.. tighten the adjusting nuts.. don't over tighten...its easy to do and may already be too late if you tightened them down to the point they just spin around... if so...try a bigger screw/bolt....

so then how do i get that plastic screen off without damaging it, it looks like its either melted on or has the same color rubber cement against the metal of the door, the only way im working on this, is through the top.

If i take off that white plastic thing, without damagain it, will i be able to work with more ease?
edit: the window is completely off and sitting inside my car...

p.s. what i took off was the whole gray, part of the door, that has the the handle and the light at the bottom of it, did i forget to take something off?

on my old car.. i took off the plastic crap and never put it back on... it doesnt affect you really id say.. dunno

what you could do is use a heat gun or hair dryer... and heat it up. itll make the glue very sticky, but also easier to pull off...
hope that helps

Hi..I'm having the same sort-of problem with my wife's accord...I can't get the Driver's side window to stay adjusted. It'll work for about five times rolling up and down and then just starts to run off track!

That plastic moisture shield isn't that hard to take off. (..actually, at present, mine is off!) To remove it, just carefully work your way around the edges and pull it off. I used a small putty knife and used it to kinda "cut" the glue as I slowly peeled it off. Once its off, lay it "glue-side-up" somewhere so that you can put it back on.

Now.....Can anybody help us adjust these stupid windows! I tried the "rolling it up and adjusting it" method, but it only works for a short time. What am I doing wrong???
TIA
