Default Replacement tranny for 96 GSR

My tranny started having a loud clicking sound when the wheels are rolling. My mechianic told me it was a final drive, the larger of the two things in the tranny. I got a ACT 4 puk with race disk in it. So im wondering if that caused the problem? And should i put the act into my new tranny? The mechanic told me I was better of replacing the entire tranny instead of fixing it.
Im wanting to get a type R if i can find one for a decent price. How much should GSR, typeR trannys run? How much miles is considered decent for a swap-over? So far i've got quoted from hap $1250 for a '96 gsr tranny. Any help would be greatly appreaciated. I live in guetto Idaho so there's not much of anything around here.
Thanks!

A gsr tranny in cali goes for 5-800 and itr 12-1500(depending usdm or jdm). My itr tranny cost me 1200 with 90 day warranty. There is a guy on the board that can get jdm trannies. I would have bought a tranny from him but I found one locally. I can't remember his username. It was b18 something I think.

Ok in my search I found that a new usdm ITR tranny is on nationwide back order according to the local acura dealer. So Im having my buddy check the price on a new si tranny. If thats too much then I've got a choice between a '97 gsr tranny with 22k or a '99 gsr tranny with about 30k on it. Its like a a bill different between the both trannys, $1500 for the '97 and $1600 for the '99.
Should i put my ACT 4 puck race disk back into the new tranny? I was told the reason my final drive went out is because i have a race disk in there?!

WHY DO YOU HAVE A 4 PUCK. To that i say "YES" don't put it in for your next tranny. "JUST SAY NO TO PUCKS"

I learned my lesson with the 4puck, having to put up with it since i put it in. The shop that I had do my car didn't know nothing about ACT. They suggested that i go with a 4puck, which at the time sounded cool. Since I never did my research on that clutch. I'll probably go with a ITR disc, my buddy says its the same as a act street disc minus the price.
Anybody heard of the spoon trannys from inline four??? I was told for how much im gonna pay for a replacement i can get one at inline four. Who has got one of these? They worth the price/performance???
As the research continues and the gsr sits....one day she will drive again. A man w/o his import while driving around in a stock vechicle and seeing other imports. Let me tell ya.....sucks azz!

Well gues the spoon bsereis tranny is discontinued...there goes that idea. My buddy told me I should get a new final drive and a stock itr lsd. And just fix my current gsr tranny. I'm looking into ATS and stock ITR, is ATS worth it? Anyone out there have ATS??? Im so frustrated now, i just want my car running again.

Found a '95 ITR tranny, with a aftermarket LSD...anybody got this setup? Im probably gonna get it for 1200. I was told with a aftermarket lsd you gotta change the tranny fluid every 6 months?! Is this true? And you gotta use different tranny fuild. I've been w/o my car for way too long, so if things go right I'll end up getting this tranny. I'd like to hear some opinions if any out there on this. Thanks!
