The end of an era....I feel more sad then I though I would. 56k...ouch
I sold my Hx today. I have been through what seems like everything with this car. I originally bought it 3 years ago knowing nothing about hondas, and thinking it was fast because it had VTEC.
I learned pretty much all I know today about cars through this vehicle. It has been a great friend to me for all that time. Now that I don't have it anymore, I seem to feel an emptyness, and yet an urge to move on.
*History*
Bought the car in November of 99. Didn't know **** about cars except for the fact that I/H/E make Honda's mad fast y0! Installed I/H/E....$1000 car still slow. 16.6 quarter mile. I was doing lots of reading and posting at SHO during that time. I was slowly learning engine codes, what engine would go in my car...etc. I did lots and lots and lots of reading about how to do engine swaps.
October 2000...swapped in Ex tranny and ACT clutch. Definate improvement.
May 2001...bought a wrecked 99 Civic Si. Took out the engine, rear discs, master cylinder, prop valve, seats, cluster, etc and installed into my car. I was happy to be finally DOHC VTEC powered. Car was definitly fast in my eyes at the time.
October 2001. Severe Hailstorm!
The one day my car was out of the garage too. 300 dents on roof, 150 on trunk, dents on rear quarter panels, front fenders...everywhere. Insurance paid out $4200. I had the hookup for paintless dent removal so that cost $600, the rest went to black moldings painted body color, CF Hood. Ground effects.
Early Summer 2002. Installed turbo kit, got it tuned with hondata, all that cost me about 6 months earnings.... ~240WHP@8000 at 10 pounds of boost. Drove around at 7 pounds only. Car was still fast as ****. Ran 13.7@104 on street tires at 7 pounds.
Decided turbo made my bank account too low, so I sold it.
September 28...big Chicago Area H-Tech meet. Lots of fun
October 1st 2002...civic sold.

you still want speed or do you want to get out of it? I say move on to something rwd or awd. Try something new and see if you like it.
I hate reading stories like that..because I bet you've worked your arss off and paid out the butt for it, and now it's gone. At least you have the satisfaction of completing it, and doing it right. Is there going to be another project or what?? Nice car though, hopefully the new owner will take care of it as you have

be different. i cant tell you what to get but everyone has either an eg or an ek. get somthing different. if you want to be innovative and you're good with fabrication, check into a super early civic (cvcc?) with a swap

Oh, I did get $10,500 for my Hybrid!
Options, in most likely to least likely....Bang For My Buck speed wise is a MAJOR consideration. Reliablity is also.
1. 99+ Camaro SS
2. EG civic hatch with nice all motor setup(Import Builders Package 2)
3. 99-00 Ek hatch...I would like to do a CTR conversion minus the RHD, w/b18c5
4. 2003 WRX....silver
5. 240SX with sr20det swap

Wait, I'm confused...I thought you sold the HX cause you were broke...but now you want to buy an even more expensive car after you sold your project?? To be honest with you, I think 10.5 is kinda low. Around my area, you could probably get around at least 13.5( we have kids selling 95 EX coupes with 120k on them with rims for 5500!, and I mean SELLING) But whatever you get, good luck!! You should look into the earlier 2.5 RS 2 door with a turbo kit! That would be fun!
Levi- I followed your car for a good chunk of its life. You sold your wheels to my friend Chris
I feel like I'm part of that car too. lol. Best of luck in the future.

Swap!! Have you seen that CRX with a RSX Type-S engine mounted in the back for RWD!!! What do you really need to store in the hatch when you can have a trunk in the front!!
