hx rims compared to si rims question
ok i have a question
i have a 97 civic hx with championship white hx rims
a guy wanted to trade me si rims for my hx's and i was really curious to no
since hx's were one of the lightest rims made by honda, and they were made for gas efficiency,
does that mean if i were to trade for the si rims
and put the si rims on my car, i would lose a little of my gas mileage because they are heavier or something?

I would say the hx's are a little lighter just based on being smaller, but I think the hx had 14's, 185 65 14 and the the 99 si was like 195 55 15, going by memory. This of course if the si's were 99 or 00's. Eariler si's were 14's I think.
I like the HX better, but only because I think Si wheels are ugly. I would just go with the ones that look nicer to you. There's far better tire options out there for the Sis though. Fuel economy will change for sure with the weight difference, but not by much since the Sis have a taller overall height and will decrease your cruising RPMs just a tad. If your car is really light, you may notice a bit slower acceleration, but not by much.
wow hx's are the lightest honda wheels?
they're pretty heavy to me, thats just me...
i highly doubt your going to see a big diff in your gas mileage unless you drive like a mad man!
i have a eg with hx wheels, getting ave 340-380, sometimes 400 on a full tank

They aren't the lightest, but they're pretty light. The lightest would probably be the 13" alloys on the CRX HF or the 13" wheels from the Civic VX.
but i have a question
because i have hx's
does that mean that if i lower my car, it will be EVEN LOWER to the ground because they are 14s??
i mean my tires is 185/65/14
i dont wanna ride slammed, but i want the little gap between fenders and tires to go away lol
