ATF
Hey, 92 Civic Auto Trans. I am new to Honda's and need some ATF. I've read that you should only use Honda brand due to ingredients in that ATF. Is this true or can I use any high quality brand. I would appreciate feedback from your experience.

Re: ATF
I think Honda ATF is the safest answer, though I've been running Castrol TransMax for Imports for a year in my 00 Civic EX auto and it seems to be fine.
I also ran Valvoline MaxLife for a few years and it was fine as well.

Re: ATF
Honda, Red Line, GM Syncro would all be okay.
Unless you're having issues keep it simple, use Honda fluid.
People have claimed Red Line solved clutch slippage issues but I've never owned an AT so I don't have direct experience.
