Ok so I have a B16A2 in my 97 coupe.I need to get a new engine harness but right now the only one(s) I can find are from a 99 vtec auto...99 base model auto(probably not cause of non-vtec),and a 97 HB.Do I have to have a 5spd harness or can i be modified using plugs off mine? If not,what would the best/easiest one to get ideally?Any response is highly appreciated.

 

the only one that will work is the 97 hb , you can use an auto harness but has to be from the same 0bd model 96-98 are obd2a 99-00 are obd2b the plugs are differant for the ecu .

 

Thanks for the response...I kind of understand what you're saying.If it makes any difference,it has a P28 and the 0bd conversion harness on it.Just double checking things before I waste $150


Edit: So it would be better to get a harness out of a 96-98(doesnt matter if its auto) rather than a 99-00.Even though the B16 came in a 99-00? Sorry if wrong,just trying to get a better understanding

 

the harness should match the car not the motor (unless you can get the floor,dash,engine,tail harness from an em1 ) it will have to be modified (lenthed plugs swaped,wires added vtec etc) the only thing with an auto is to do the 3 wire to 2 wire iac mod and you will have several extra plugs from the tranny and 1 at the ecu + you might have to rewire the reverse lights .96-98 manuel ex harness would be your best bet
