obd2a and obd2b engine harness
Is there a difference? I had a y8 from my 97 civic that go rear ended, and I pulled the motor to put in my now, 99 civic. Do i need the harness? like is there a difference in the harness'? I dont even know the difference between the obd2's anyway. I know the ECU plugs are different, but is there any difference on the harness going to the motor

I know the chassis harness is different as well so yes you will need an adapter. There are obd2a to obd2b and obd2b to obd2a adapters you just need to get the correct one.

no all the plugs are the same just swap the motor and hook the 99 civic engine harness to it. u would only need that conversion harness if u used the 97 engine harness which is pointless if the 99 has an engine harness already. use the 99 p2p ecu
