I Seriously think my questions get ignored on purpose
.... COme on for real, I have a question..... WHo makes the best Racing Computer chips, are they safe for every day driving.?????????????????
i don't ignore you but i don't have an answer, i've heard that they are safe to run on the street, that you are going to pay a lot more for gas and that there are several out there JUN, spoon, skunk2 and some others
THey're not crap. They're a great alternative if you don't want to go all out with an EMS. They're a hell of a lot better then stock, and just a VAFC. Mugen also makes one and they're are countless other programs. JUN has one designed to work with JUN cams. You can order them to fit your car. Try Dan at Godspeed:

On any of the above we can set up fuel and timing maps for a variety of configurations. Also we can increase rev limiter and on the OBD-II ECU's adjust VTEC point. E-mail us for more info
you need alot of engine mods in order to make a "racing chip" worthwhile. i doubt just having bolt-ons would get you the gain's you might be expecting from a chip.
hmmmm.... I can get this one at work from Hypertech thats 159.99 and Im jsut trying to figure out if its worth it....

whatever you do just stay far away from the MUGEN, they make good stuff but the program is just too crazy.
One of my friend's that works at a performance shop recently ran a P28 remapped w/ the Locash program in my 95 gsr w/ intake, header, skunk2 intake mainifold, and exhaust and I could really feel an increase in power. I just wanted to see what it would do before I put my skunk2 valve springs, retainers, cams, and camgears in. I honestly didn't expect it to do as much as it did. If you change intake manifolds and go to a single butterfly unit like the skunk2, it will make you faster. I never had a chance to take it to the track or dyno it, but it was a very good program. Ran pretty rich, but you're gonna spend more on gas if you're fast.
if you dont know what the telemetry in the ECU does and how it behaves, why would you ever get someone else's chip? I dont trust it. I would rather see the adjustments being made live on the dyno and live with that.

Chips are, IMO, marketed to appeal to people who know very little about engine management and performance, and think that since it's "Mugen JDM y0!" it will magically add 50 hp.
But that's just me.
IMO, the only reason to get a chip instead of just saving up and getting hondata or EMS, is if you completely finish modding, then have your ecu custom chipped according to your setup.
As for me, I will never be through modding.

so you can have your ECU adjusted while on the dyno? Not to sound like a total tard or anything but, is this what they mean by correctly tuning your car?
Fly By,
Take a browse thru http://www.hondata.com/ it will most likely help you out a bunch to understand mods for tunable ECM's. Hondata = good stuff
Good Luck,
