Some insight needed....
A few months ago I had my car stolen and stripped. Luckily I found it and was able to get it back. It isn't in too bad a condition, so I've decided to rebuild it. The engine was still intact when I found it, thats why I decided to keep it. The car had an alarm which was bypassed so the brain and everything was removed. It seems that my ignition is the only thing else thats wrong because when i tried to use my old key, it wouldn't do anything when I turned it. My question is, with the ignition shot, can it just be replaced? Is there anything else that I should look for? I'd appreciate any information. Thanks in advance!
my car was recently broken into...whoever tried to steal it...jacked up my ignition to where you couldnt even put a key in...and they ripped up the steerin column...after they couldnt get it started they tried to steal my steerin wheel for the airbag but were unsucessful...i only had to pay $100 cause it was covered under vandalism on my insurance but i think for all new parts my bill was well over a $1000...just an addition to exody's post about it might be a little costly...sorry i couldnt help with your actual question
